Campus Construction Has Commenced…
As we all know, the groundwork for the new TCU building is well underway. All employees have been using the road entrance near Bruyere Gardens as the employee entrance. Because of all the trucks and the configuration of the parking lots, there will be a lot of traffic out in front of D’Youville and Bruyere.
This heightened level of traffic in areas that have not seen a lot of traffic in the past should cause us all to heighten our awareness as people are driving in unfamiliar territory and in D’Youville and Bruyere residents’ territory. Please be mindful of all stop signs, speed bumps and crosswalks as we go through this construction period.
In this nice weather, we have a lot of folks walking to and from the park, outside in wheelchairs and using walkers. In addition, a lot of local Lowell residents use the campus as a safe place to partake in their own exercise routines!
Many visitors have always utilized this entrance and are not yet accustomed to the new traffic levels and we have seen many a near miss collision with vehicles. Due to this situation, please be aware that a new stop sign has been put out in front of Bruyere that was not here.
Keep your eyes out for oncoming traffic – whether it be people or vehicles! We appreciate your continued dedication to safety awareness!
Remember! Safety is No Accident!!
